Some people may say that brunch is the most important meal of the day and they are definitely right! Here are some of the places that define brunch in Bogotá.
Bogotá is one of the best places to have brunch in Colombia. First of all, you can get amazing fresh products all year long, and second, the gastronomical variety is huge. The city is brunch heaven, and more restaurants and hotels are venturing into this business and coming up with fun and creative ideas to make a whole experience for their customers. Here are some of the best brunch options in Bogotá.
Never ending eating and drinking
Market Kitchen at W Hotel
The Market Kitchen opens every Saturday and Sunday and it offers a wide selection of foods that include a ceviche and poke bowl station, a waffle table, cheese and cold meats, antipasti, and some of the country’s traditional dishes, like “empanadas” and “lechona” (a roast pig stuffed with yellow peas, green onion, rice, and spices cooked in an outdoor brick oven for about ten hours). The venue offers a great selection of booze too. You can pick from mimosas, bloody marys, beer, or you can go to the gin & tonic station, where a mixologist will advise you on the best ingredients to take your drink to the next level.

A traditional all you can brunch
Restaurante Club Colombia
This beautiful restaurant located in an old school house surrounded by trees and nature is an oasis in the middle of the hectic Chicó neighborhood. This weekend tradition has been going on for over 9 years and focuses on serving a buffet-style brunch with dishes from all corners of the country. The restaurant serves an extended variation of arepas, local pastries and bread, and amazing local fruits, among other fantastic delicacies. The place is great for anyone looking to try some of the wide and varied Colombian gastronomy. I highly recommend you visit the table with an awesome guy wearing a chef hat, who I call the “egg man.” He will ask you to pick anything you want from a wide table of toppings and make the eggs the way you like them.
Hours: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Cost: $24 USD/$80,000 COP

To keep in mind: when booking, ask for a table in the “terraza” courtyard, which is really nice and right next to the buffet. Also, you can get unlimited hot drinks and juices, but mimosas come at an extra cost.
Healthy brunch on a budget
Crepes & waffles Arte-Sano
This fantastic chain restaurant is everywhere around the city and other places in the country, but they have a special branch located in Zona G, called Arte Sano, where the main focus consists of offering healthy and organic-based dishes made with local ingredients and great flavors. They offer a regular breakfast menu Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 11:45 am, and on the weekends, they have a special menu for brunch lovers. You should try the breakfast crepes and the “Tasty Toasts,” served with avocado, sour cream, and chilies. Also, make sure you order the bread basket, which you can customize with any type of bread you fancy the most. The restaurant also offers vegan and gluten-free options. If you cannot be bothered to move or you are not in the mood for a healthy eating experience, you can try the brunch in any other Crepes and Waffles, which is also very tasty and affordable.

Cost: Depending on what you order, the average meal for two can cost around $18 USD/$60,000 COP
